There is a old story of a teacher who offends the King and is going to be put to death. The teacher appeals to the king to give him a year and in that time he will teach the king’s favorite horse to talk. This appealed to the King’s ego and he granted the request and the teacher took the horse home with him
When he relayed the story to his wife, she goes, “What is wrong with you? You will never teach that horse to talk
The man replied, “All I know is I have a year to live that I didn’t have yesterday. A lot can happen in a year. The king could die, the horse could dies, I could die, or who knows, the horse may learn to talk.
